What the Committee Does.

For legal or statutory description of what the duties of committee people are, the Act and Regulations and the Club’s own Rules of Incorporation should be consulted.

These comments are a guide to the tasks other people do.

1.    The President’s main job is to chair all meetings of the Club at which he/she may be present. Another pleasant task is to represent the Club when collecting awards, or attending meetings on behalf of the Club. The main one of these is attending ASCCA meetings.

2.    The Vice-President takes over whenever the President cannot attend meetings. In our Club Robson vets and oversee new trainers.

3.    The Secretary takes and keeps the minutes of all Club meetings, keeps a record of all committee members and whether they are present or not at club meetings Shirley Cunningham also looks

4.    after the notice board (actually we shouls ask her before we add to it) keeps track of our insurance policies and tries to get us best possible deals, makes the bookings for all club meetings in the council buildings, watch out for the opportunities to apply for grants or funds from any source, writes most of the letters the committee decides should be sent and does other tasks as the need arises.

5.    The Treasurer ensures that we receive all monies due to us and that we pay our bills promptly. Another important task is keeping the accounts  and preparing the annual financial statements we are required to send to the Department of Fair Trade.

6.    The Committee members in general all attend meetings  of course and participate in making decisions about running the club. Decisions are usually made by consensus. Some committee people look after specific items as follows: Belle Holmes counts heads at meetings, presides over morning tea. She also shops for Member comfort items.  Muriel Guard arranges office assistants
